The Project Manager is expected plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the specific jobs assigned to them. The Project Manager will work closely with upper management, sales, and shop/field crews to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule. Additionally, the Project Manager will assist in the transition between sales and daily operations. This includes estimating, material procurement, field support and work as part of team to ensure timely, high quality products. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Leadership: 

  • Regularly meet with your superintendent to get status updates on job progress, issue, or any other pertinent information.
  • Work closely with the fabrication/field crew(s) to keep them motivated. This will include communicating with them frequently and resolving conflicts if necessary. 

Project Planning and Management:

  • Create a feasible plan that achieves the goals and objectives of the project while aligning with the organizations overall business strategy: maximize profits while minimizing costs. This consists of defining the scope, resources, time/financial commitment, and how to monitor project progress. 
  • Asses, track, assign, and execute RFCO’s and CO’s based on schedule of values and cost of services.  
  • Assist and perform in estimates/project takeoff on Fabrication projects, as needed.  
  • Prepare necessary material lists, equipment lists and project schedules. That being the time schedules and schedule of values associated with the specific project. 
  • Routinely visit his/her jobsites to monitor progress, coordinate with project foreman, audit site safety, and review productivity. 
  • Continually update customers on job progression, problems, and change order requests. 

Financial Planning and Management: 

  • Monitor the billing and collection process to ensure timely, accurate payments, and collections. 
  • Review project budgets, estimates, and actuals to determine if there are any issue that need to be addressed. 
  • Prepare and present forecasts as part of the monthly profit review profit review process to include, if necessary, corrective action to resolve problems and restore quality, safety, productivity, and/or profitability. 
  • Communicate on an as-needed basis the financial health of projects to upper management and leadership team by means of reporting. 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of construction principles and practices. 
  • Working knowledge of AWS/AISC structural bridge codes. 
  • Experience leading successful project teams, including development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities. 
  • Understand job cost reports as well as managing cost to complete throughout each project. 
  • Thorough understanding of how projects are quoted in regards to costs for material, labor and equipment. 
  • Proficient working in MS Word, Excel and other business-related software, including email, calendars, and contacts. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must have a strong understanding of welding and or posses the skill to weld utilizing SMAW, FCAW, GMAW. 
  • Familiar with steel fit up, proper bolting technique, and crane/rigging skill. 
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to continually look for opportunities to improve processes, functions, and actions to maximize efficiency and customer value. 
  • Continually update customers on job progression, problems, and change order requests. 
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in handling and processing confidential information. 
  • Perform/oversee design calculations and/or create drawing for fabrication. 
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and present a professional image of the company image and core values. 
  • Ability to analyze numerical data and be able to make decisions upon that data. 
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, instructional manuals, work site directions, blueprints, and written instructions.

Bass is seeking an experienced Ironworker Field Foreman. The Ironworker Field Foreman will be capable of running projects with responsibilitity to oversee crew to ensure proper execution of job. Candidate must have the ability to lead a team, and organize tasks and workflow for efficient, on-time project completion.

Foreman Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Run a crew of men on jobs from start to finish
  • Run job site efficiently and safely making sure all men on-site understand proper safety protocol
  • Ensure quality craftsmanship on every job
  • Work with multiple GC's to represent Bass in a positive manner
  • Keep in constant communication with the Field Superintendent making him aware of items or issues that may arrise throughout the project
  • Able to be flexible with changes in schedule and projects
  • Responsible for maintaining Bass company records as applicable for projects (such as time tickets, daily reports, load papers and any other paperwork that may pertain to an erection project
  • Responsible for recording the men's working hours on the Bass provided timesheets
  • Responsible for recording company VISA and Fuel Card receipts, weekly
  • Maintain company-issued vehicle (Ford F450). Will need to keep vehicle clean and orderly to represent Bass positively. Responsible for keeping tools in order and accounted for, requesting additional or replacement goods when needed.
  • Responsible for company-issued cell phone and laptop
  • Be innovative when working on projects and always be prepared to think of new ways to become more efficient

Ironworker Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work at heights effeciently either on the steel directly or from a lift
  • Make connections and alligning holes for bolted connections
  • Use proper rigging techniques to lift steel efficiency and safely
  • Use proper crane signals to safely manuver steel on site
  • Be certified to run equipment such as personnel lifts and all terrain fork lifts

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years foreman experience
  • Should be service and customer-service oriented and show commitment to the job, demonstrated by appearance, tools and personal pride in work performed

Bass is seeking highly motivated Ironworkers to join our team. As an ironworker, you will be responsible for connecting columns, beams, girders, and equipment with bolts or by welding them into place and finishing the job with details. Experience and proficiency with 3G and 4G welding required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work at heights efficiently, either on the steel directly or from a lift
  • Make connections and aligning holes for bolted connections
  • Use proper rigging techniques to lift steel efficiently and safely
  • Use proper crane signals to safely manuver steel on site

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Be certified to run equipment such as personnel lifts and all terrain fork lifts
  • Be able to adapt to continuing changes in schedule and job site conditions
  • Be willing to work in all different weather circumstances
  • Take direction and be able to complete tasks with minimal supervisor
  • Able to use hand and powertools affectively andsafely
  • Proficient in SMWA (stick) welding in 3G and 4G

The Mechanical Foreman will be capable of executing/managing projects and service calls. This position will require additional “Soft Skills” as well as the skill sets for the Mechanical/Millwright position. This is a highly skilled position performing troubleshooting and general mechanical maintenance and installation of manufacturing equipment, while placing a strong emphasis on safe working practices. The ability to work safely on and around heavy industrial equipment in sometimes hazardous environments is required.

**LOOKING FOR CANDIDATE WITH STRONG PIPE SKILLS:

Pipe fitting and welding, all types of piping systems including stainless steel and process piping.**

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversight of mechanical field crew to safely and efficiently complete projects. Duties and responsibilities include those of Millwright III, in addition to the following responsibilities:

  • Manage projects
  • Train and mentor millwrights
  • Liaise with customers in the course of project execution to sell additional services
  • Install, service or maintain industrial machinery, equipment, or systems
  • Install piping and fluid handling systems
  • Install, modify or service conveyor systems
  • Build, install or modify duct systems
  • Metal fabrication duties, including: cutting, grinding, etc.
  • Demolition of equipment, machinery, or structures
  • Basic civil projects, including: concrete repairs, boring, core-drilling, wall patching, etc.
  • Structural steel erection or modification, including: mezzanines, platforms, supports, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Read and comprehend various schematics including European versions
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Available for overtime and emergency call-ins
  • Experience directing jobs and teams, a plus.
  • Should be service and customer-service oriented.

  • Position will include local projects as well as Overnight travel (up to 20% Annually)

  • Understanding of different materials (S.S., C.S., Al, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ductwork systems and typical installation techniques
  • Operation of service trucks and non-CDL trucks
  • Complete tasks independently with supervisory oversight

Candidate must have own basic hand tools. Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. Candidate should be drug free, reliable, care about detail & quality, able to multi-task and follow directions. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. frequently and able to work at heights without fear. Candidate must be able to travel up to 21 days straight.


The Millwright III will be capable of independently performing project tasks with minimal oversight or direction. This is a highly skilled position performing troubleshooting and general mechanical maintenance and installation of manufacturing equipment, while placing a strong emphasis on safe work practices. The ability to work safely on and around heavy industrial equipment in sometimes hazardous environments, is required.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Working in an industrial environment under the supervision of a Foreman or Supervisor. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Install, service or maintain industrial machinery, equipment, or systems
  • Install piping and fluid handling systems
  • Install, modify or service conveyor systems
  • Build, install or modify duct systems
  • Metal fabrication duties, including: cutting, grinding, etc.
  • Demolition of equipment, machinery, or structures

  • Proficient with at least two (2) welding processes (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW) – hold or have held welding certifications
  • Experienced in machine/equipment service and repair (i.e. bearings, drives, shafts, etc.)
  • Proficient in equipment alignment and leveling techniques
  • Welding -- Proficient with at least two (2) welding process (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW)
  • Operate pipe bender and threader
  • Cutting tools and techniques, including: oxy-acetylene torch, plasma, jet-arc, etc.
  • Comprehension of blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • Use of hand and power tools
  • Use of measuring devices
  • Crane signaling
  • Equipment operation, including: scissors and boom lifts; all-terrain, shooting boom, and industrial forklifts

  • Strong troubleshooting skills a must
  • Read and comprehend various schematics including European versions
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Instrumentation experience a plus

  • Experience directing jobs and teams a plus.
  • Should be service and customer-service oriented.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Positively identify colors of wires.
  • Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics
  • Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.
  • Must use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
  • Capable of digging trenches, either by hand or with the use of power tools.
  • Practices and comprehends safe work procedures per Company Policy.
  • Operate two-handed tools / equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers.
  • Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmission.
  • Understand and implement NFPA 70E “ELECTRICAL SAFETY IN THE WORK PLACE”
  • Read and interprets maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blue prints and written instructions.
  • Operate and work from mechanical personal lifts (electric or gas powered).

Bass Mechanical is seeking experienced industrial electricians. This is a highly skilled position which includes troubleshooting and general electrical maintenance of manufacturing equipment, while placing a strong emphasis on safe work practices.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment
  • Experience with all wiring methods associated with construction electrical work
